Director of Performance Marketing

Location: offices in SF Bay Area, hybrid in-office

We are seeking an experienced Director of Performance Marketing to lead our direct-to-consumer growth strategy across multiple digital acquisition channels. This role is pivotal in driving revenue, optimizing CAC, and scaling acquisition efforts through data-driven decision-making and innovative testing.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team of performance marketing experts, collaborating closely with product, engineering, analytics, sales, and other marketing functions to deliver measurable business growth. This is a highly visible leadership position with significant influence over strategic direction and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the growth strategy across Google Ads, Meta, SEO, affiliates, and emerging channels—able to be hands-on when needed.

  • Drive full-funnel performance metrics (revenue, earned premium, CAC) and continuously optimize campaigns to achieve targets.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing performance marketing team, fostering a culture of experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration.

  • Partner with analytics, ad tech, and sales teams to enhance data infrastructure, automate reporting, and enable scalable optimization.

  • Relentlessly test new acquisition channels and tactics to diversify and expand reach.

  • Develop and report on full-funnel KPIs, translating complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership.

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure marketing strategies align with product launches, customer behavior trends, and brand positioning.

  • Act as a trusted partner to the CMO, balancing aggressive growth goals with customer-first brand values.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 8+ years of growth/performance marketing experience with deep expertise in Google Ads and Meta Ads.

  • 3–4+ years leading and managing teams in high-growth environments.

  • Proven ability to scale acquisition channels and optimize CAC through strategic and tactical execution.

  • Advanced analytical skills with experience managing large data sets and applying insights to drive results.

  • Strong knowledge of campaign attribution, SEO, and reporting tools such as Tableau.

  • Experience with Salesforce and SQL (preferred).

  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to present to and influence C-level stakeholders.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
