Director of Acquisition
Location: offices in NYC-Metro Area, 2x per week in office
We’re looking for a strategic, data-driven Director of Acquisition to lead the company’s new customer growth. In this role, you'll be responsible for all customer acquisition, manage an eight-figure annual budget, work closely with our agency partners and internal stakeholders, and manage an existing growth team.
This position is ideal for a highly self-motivated individual who is passionate about new customer acquisition, highly analytical, thrives in a constantly changing environment, and thrives on iterative processes. This role will report to the Vice President of Growth &
Analytics.
Responsibilities
● Own and manage the full performance marketing budget across all media channels, ensuring efficient spend and continuous optimization to acquire new customers profitably.
● Develop and manage the acquisition plan and forecast through meticulous daily planning, reconciliation and bottoms up across revenue and efficiency metrics.
● Champion a culture of experimentation, continuously testing new channels, creative approaches, product-led growth engines, and optimization strategies to unlock new growth opportunities that reach and acquire our target customer.
● Lead and mentor a team of performance marketers along with external agency relationships.
● Partner heavily with brand marketing and creative teams to marry performance and brand together through campaign and briefing alignment, creative development and media execution.
● Oversee all paid digital and offline media channels across paid search, paid social, TV, audio and print among others.
● Own how we report and communicate performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis both cross functionally and vertically to senior leaders.
● Partner with all departments to develop the acquisition OKRs that ladder up to the company’s long range planning goals.
● Leverage deep, data-driven insights to guide decisions, constantly improving key KPIs like CAC and LTV.
● In partnership with Analytics Engineering and Data Science teams, optimize and enhance our in-house MTA, MMM and incrementality models to optimize new customer efficiency.
● Align acquisition efforts with Brand Marketing and Merchandising to support product launches and seasonal campaigns.
● Spearhead CRO initiatives to drive improvements in our paid and organic funnels through partnerships with the E-Commerce, Analytics and Creative teams.
● In partnership with the E-comm and Brand Marketing teams, run our promotional strategy to optimize growth, take advantage of peak shopping opportunities while balancing the strongest quality customers.
Requirements
● 8+ years in a growth marketing role at a scaled and profitable DTC company.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with excellent working knowledge of data visualization/reporting tools (Looker, etc.)
● In depth knowledge of the media measurement landscape (MTA, MMM, incrementality) and have shepherded in new forms of measurement in prior positions (either external or internal).
● Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, manage, and grow teams of 5+ and external partners. Has managed media agencies in prior positions.
● Expertise in marrying both Brand and Performance teams to drive towards the greater business goal, and strong involvement in creative development in a luxury, DTC environment.
● Exceptional ability to craft and execute growth strategies aligned with broader business objectives whilst successfully partnering with other company stakeholders such as E-comm, Brand and Creative.
● A successful track record of owning and optimizing large performance marketing budgets ($30M+) based on data-driven insights.
● Strong ability to negotiate deals and partnerships that align with company goals.
● Comfortable operating in a high-growth environment, with the ability to pivot and inspire others to follow.
● Self-motivated, results driven, highly organized, and has strong attention to detail.
● Capacity to operate independently to identify gaps, research and solve for those gaps.
● Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels and departments of the organization both verbally and through written forms.
